In January 2026, Magic Photography attended the School & Sports Photographers Annual Conference (SPAC) in Las Vegas — one of the largest and most influential gatherings in the global school and volume photography industry. Director Rodrigo Alvarado was invited to speak, sharing Australian perspectives with international industry leaders.
SPAC brings together thousands of professional photographers, technology providers, print labs and industry leaders from around the world. The conference emphasises innovation in school photography, workflow efficiency, child-safety standards, data-security practices, and improving experiences for schools and families.
Rodrigo presented on operational systems, artificial intelligence, innovation and raising standards in child-focused photography. Drawing on over a decade of experience with Australian early learning centres and schools, he covered scalable photography systems, reducing administrative burden, using automation for consistency, maintaining child-safety and data standards, and enhancing the parent experience. International operators were particularly interested in how Australian frameworks around privacy and child protection shape the way we design our systems.
Attending and speaking at SPAC gives our partner institutions internationally benchmarked best practices, continuous service improvement, stronger data-handling standards, access to the latest technology, and a photography partner who invests in learning and leadership.
The industry is evolving, with rising expectations around privacy, efficiency, parent experience and operational systems. We're committed to staying ahead — building strong systems, maintaining high standards, and investing in professional development.
